ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A few of the Village Mayors of Muskingum County came together on Tuesday, November 19th, to speak with the County Commissioners.
The discussion involved each mayor voting to appoint a member to serve on the County Convention and Tourism Bureau’s Board. Lloyd Miller, Mayor of the Village of Philo, said that he believes there are 6 individuals on the board.
“We already had Terry Goss from Goss Supply on that board. His term was ending, he showed an interest that he would like to continue with that. So that’s what we did, we want ahead and re-appointed Terry,” Miller said.
Once elected the term lasts for 4 years. He said members of the community don’t realize how much money comes into the area with tourism for ball games, concerts and other events.
“All of our Villages want to have good people representing Muskingum County and want to have good places for venues for concerts and that’s what’s important to this committee,” Miller said. “Active people that want to see the area grow and serve the people better.”
He said it is very important to pick people for the board who are actively involved in the community.
