ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It’s the season of giving and one company is helping kids stay warm.

Mill Manager Brandon Goodwin from the Ohio Stave Company dropped off 92 coats at the Salvation Army. He said each year the company gives back to the community and part of this year’s giving included supporting Coats for Kids. He said it’s a great feeling knowing kids will be warm this winter.

“With all the added stresses of the holiday season, we just want to make sure that parents don’t have to worry about their kids being cold this winter waiting for the bus or being outside playing with their friends,” said Goodwin.

Office Manager Kelly Price said another part of their community giving includes buying gifts for kids on the Angel Tree. She says buying the gifts is something the employees get excited about and look forward too.

“Oh, they get really excited,” said Price. “So we have some that want to shop for girls, some want to shop for boys. So they get really active with picking the perfect gifts for them.”

Price said it’s a lot of fun watching the office fill with gifts each year for the kids and knowing they are helping those in need.
