The City of Zanesville will begin leaf collection approximately November 5th, 2018.
The following list is a tentative schedule of the wards in which collections will take place. The City asks that you have leaves raked out at all times, as the schedule is a rough estimate only and is dependent upon weather, amount of leaves to be collected in each ward, and other factors.
Zanesville Codified Ordinance 905.01 states “…no person shall place or permit to be placed in any street, alley or sidewalk in the City any material, substance or obstruction of any kind whatever”. Remember to rake leaves between the street and the sidewalk. If there is no sidewalk, the leaves should be raked as close to the street as possible, but NOT INTO THE STREET.
In order to combat property damage and personal injury, DO NOT PARK ON OR NEAR LEAVES that are to be collected. Leaves with vehicles near them WILL NOT be collected and it will be up to the property owner to dispose of the leaves.
Nov 5 thru Nov 9 – Wards 5 & 6
Nov 13 thru Nov 16 – Wards 3 & 4
Nov 19 thru Nov 21 – Wards 1 & 2
Nov 26 thru Nov 30 – Wards 5 & 6
Dec 3 thru Dec 7 – Wards 3 & 4
Dec 10 thru Dec 14 – ALL WARDS
DO NOT RAKE ANY ADDITIONAL LEAVES OUT AFTER DECEMBER 7TH.
Again, this is a tentative schedule and several factors may sway the schedule in either direction. The leaf collection will be during these 6 weeks, weather permitting.
