ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center is one step closer to their new building.
Bimbos Bakery donated money they received from selling old equipment to the Adoption Center. Bimbos Bakery Airport branch Plant Manager Steve Kerekes said as a long time animal lover, the adoption center was the perfect place to donate the money.
“And myself, I’m a dog lover, I have six dogs,” said Kerekes. “I actually got one dog from the dog pound so, what better place to contribute and donate the money to then the dog pound.”
Volunteer for the Dog Warden Doug McQuaid said the money will go toward their new building and that they are excited to be that much closer to breaking ground on their new building.
“You know, a place where they feel very welcome and feel comfortable and feel like the dogs are properly being taken care of, sanitary, and that everything should be in order,” said McQuaid.
McQuaid said while they don’t have a time line yet for the building, they do have blue prints started and that it’s a very realistic build. For anyone looking to donate, building donations can be made through the Muskingum County Community Foundation.
