Zanesville Mayor Jeff Tilton says a lot of city water drained from the Fairview Road tower after an accident Tuesday morning. Investigators say around 5:00 am a semi tractor trailer turning into the parking of Donatos Pizza on Maple Avenue knocked over a fire hydrant causing water to spew into the air. It was leaking for over 4 hours and the city estimated 10 feet of water drained from the tower and that adds up to a 375,000 gallons. The hydrant was shut off around 9:00 am and repairs are being made. The driver could be cited by the sheriff’s department in the accident.
