ZANESVILLE, Ohio- This week we have two furry friends we’d like to introduce you to.
Both of these dogs came to the Animal Shelter as strays. They’re both seniors and are looking for their retirement homes. First up is Jax. Jax is a 10-year-old Border Collie mix. He’s been at the shelter since late last month. Stephanie Hill, President of the Board of Directors, said he is a laid back dog that just wants to chill. Hill said Jax will do good in a home without small children and where he’ll be the only pet.
“He’s pretty chill. He’s a pretty low key guy because as a senior he’s a little lower energy. Just kind of wants to hangout and chill out with you. So if you’re looking for a dog that’s a little more low energy, Jax would be perfect for you.”
The other dog this week is Pumba. She looks a bit like a bear, but she’s really a super friendly Chow Chow. Pumba is 11-years-old with a kick of energy and a lot to say. Hill said Pumba will probably be best in a home without small kids.
“She’s really friendly as you can see. She kind of wanted to see everybody’s that here. So she’s friendly. A little lower energy, but for a senior dog still has a good bit of energy. And she’d make somebody a really great companion.”
Both Jax and Pumba have had their surgeries and are up to date on their shots. Neither of them have any health concerns. And both of their adoption fees have been waived so you only have to pay $10.75 for each of their dog tags. If you are interested in meeting Jax or Pumba and giving one or both of them a home, you can contact the Animal Shelter at 740-452-1077.
