NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Muskingum men’s basketball team battled back, but in the end came up short Wednesday night against OAC foe Wilmington.
The Muskies were down by four at the break, and thanks to some timely shooting took a double digit lead at one point in the second half. However, a costly technically foul in the game’s final minutes cost Muskingum, as they fell 91-87.
Marcus Dempsey, who is leading the OAC in scoring, went off for a team high 25 points. Devon Peart chipped in 18 for Muskingum, who is now 6-8 overall and 4-3 in the OAC.
Will Patrick came of the bench for Wilmington and went of for 26 points.
Up next for Muskingum is a Saturday road game with Ohio Northern.
