The Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark has new ownership that plans to make major renovations to the facility and restore the property to its former prestige.
Wexford Lodging Advisors in Granville and Widewaters Hotels out of Syracuse, New York, have acquired the 200 room lodge and plan a $13m renovation.
The property’s water park was closed and will be converted into a 45-thousand square foot exhibition and even center.
The president of Wexford Lodging Advisor’s John Rosen said they partnered with the City of Newark to create a plan to make the deal possible.
Newark’s Mayor Jeff hall said the lodge is an important part of Newark’s growth.
