ZANESVILLE, Ohio – One food truck is serving up an item many will not find on local menus.

The Phillips Cafe 443 food truck revolves around twisted potatoes. Jeff Lee, the Customer Relations Manager, said this entree is one that everyone remembers.

“We have people coming here all day that say I’ve had those potatoes before, said Lee. We may have added our own flavor to them like the pulled pork, but everyone remembers the twisted potatoes.”

For those unfamiliar with the the twisted potato, it is made with a whole potato that is spiralized, deep fried, and then pulled pork or Philly cheese steak is added.

Lee described it as a distinct fair food item, that brings people back every year.

“I think it’s the uniqueness of that twisted potato. It’s not something you see on very many menus. It’s just another one of those fair items because no matter what event we are at, we have people comment on the twisted potatoes at the event.”

Cafe 443 also runs the cafe at Zane State College, and their food truck is available to rent for any occasion.
