ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Dancing Divas spoke at Tuesday’s Rotary Club meeting about their upcoming event in July.

The Divas are a non profit-organization in Zanesville, and the group is designed to give women of all ages the opportunity to dance.

Trudy Cultice, the Artistic Director, talked to the Zanesville Rotary Club about their Dancing With the Divas event, which is based loosely off of the show ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ All of the money raised goes straight to the celebrity dancers charity of choice.

“To date, we have raised $180,000 over the six years, said Cultice. This year we hope to reach $200,000 and we’ve helped 40 charities raise money using 40 celebrities.”

This year six couples will dance for a number of different awards including a text vote.

“We have a fundraising achievement award, we have a people’s choice award and that is earned by people putting dollars in the celebrities jar during the event, and then we have a mirror ball of course.”

The event is July 22nd at Eagle Sticks golf tent. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the dancing starts at 8 p.m.
