ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Two local businesses are teaming up again to motivate the community to donate.
Elder-Beerman and Goodwill are holding their donation for a coupon promotion. For every gently used item that is donated to Goodwill, you will receive a 30% off coupon to Elder-Beerman.
Janelle Shaffer, Manager at the Goodwill on Maple Avenue, said this partnership has been going on for quite some time.
“Since 1994 we have partnered with Elder-Beerman twice a year,” said Shaffer. “It really helps Goodwill meet their mission, which is to give skills development employment opportunities for people with barriers.”
Shaffer said part of their mission is to assist
people that may not have the same opportunity anywhere else.
“We train them, we have workforce development that will train them and help them,” said Shaffer.
Paula Richey, Elder-Beerman Store Manager, said the company believes in giving back in all of their communities where they strive to be the hometown retailer.
“We’ve partnered with the Goodwill for several years company-wide and the premise of the event is for the customer to bring in gently used items, it can be clothing, shoes, handbags, home items,” said Richey.
In return they receive one coupon for one item donated.
“Then they can shop in our store and receive a very generous discount depending upon the area of the store that they shop in,” said Richey.
She said the coupon amount will vary through departments and will include the cosmetics department, which they typically don’t discount.
The donation sale event runs from March 15th to April 1st.
