NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Today a local diner in New Concord held a ribbon cutting on behalf of joining the Zanesville – Muskingum Chamber of Commerce.

Keith and Alisha Scott opened Scott’s Diner in 2016 after Keith Scott grew up working in his grandparent’s Lee and Thelma Scott’s restaurant known as Mr. Lee’s in Cambridge, Ohio.

“I’ve always been in the business, I went to culinary school and an opportunity came up to get this location and we thought it was perfect,” Scott said. “You know a small town, there was a need for it, you know the community needed a small sit down diner. So we just thought the timing was right.”

Scott said the hardest part of starting his business was renovating and adding all new appliances to the building on 41 East Main Street and now he’s looking towards the Chamber of Commerce to help his diner grow and expand.

“What this owner is going to be able to do is A, have a presence on the internet; B, he is going to be able to promote his business whether it’s an event or just a special that he is promoting,” President of Chamber of Commerce, Dana Matz said. “So at no additional charge he gets a website and it’s unlimited it can be linked to his Facebook page.”

Scott’s Diner is open Tuesday through Sunday 6:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. For more information on Scott’s diner go the Zanesville – Muskingum Chamber of Commerce website at and click on ‘Scott’s Diner LLC.’ under the membership directory or call Scott’s Diner at (740) 801-1730.
