ZANESVILLE, Ohio – United Way receivedÂ a generous contribution today so that in turn they can assist the community even more.
Dollar General presented the United Way of Muskingum Perry and Morgan Counties with a check for $5,000. According to the Community Impact Director, Becky Clawson, says the United Way will put a portion of the proceeds towards 211 the United Way’s 24/7 information line that can be used for emergency assistance services, crisis intervention services, and volunteer opportunities.
“It’s because of great partnerships like the one we have with Dollar General that we are able to provide 211 information service line to our three counties that we serve Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan County,” said Clawson.
United Way will use each dollar to better the community by using the given amount for their campaign.
“That goes into our general campaign and through that we fund 18 partners in our community and there are 25 programs within that as well as our 211 information service and other initiatives that United Way takes on through out the year,” said Clawson.
United Way’s Board President, Jim Blythe, on the behalf of United Way, their partners, and the community thanks Dollar General for their contributions and says that all the money will be put to good use.
