Newark Shooting Under Investigation

Newark Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment in the city.

Officers said the incident took place in the 1400 block of Dickerson Street just before 12:30 Friday morning.

Officers were waved down by the victim and a witness as they were traveling to Licking Memorial Hospital.

The victim continued to the hospital as officers secured the apartment and confirmed no one else was injured.

Witnesses to the incident were located. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Newark Police Detective Bureau at (740) 670-7215.
