Village Sees Rise in Vandalism Calls

The New Lexington Police Department said they’ve received numerous calls about vandalism incidents within the village.

Chief Scott Ervin said unknown individuals have been shooting car windows out with a low caliber firearm. In the past paintball guns, BB guns and pellet guns have been used to commit these crimes.

Authorities said the crimes seem to happen between the hours of midnight and 4:00am.

Chief Ervin said these types of crimes cause a huge inconvenience to the victims who not only have to pay for damage to be repaired but they also cause an inconvenience to their work schedule.
