ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Christmas is officially nine days away, but Santa and his helpers took a break from his workshop to help the Kiwanis Club of Zanesville host its annual Christmas party.

Santa stopped by the North Terrace Church of Christ and handed each child a gift. Co-chair of the Kiwanis Christmas party, Cindy Clark, said she enjoys seeing the smiles and excitement on each child’s face.

“Christmas is a time of giving,” said Clark. “And we are blessed by being Kiwanis members, and it’s our way of giving back to the children of our communities.”

Co-chair Sarah McInturf, stresses the importance of events likes this.

“I think it’s very important to giving back to the community especially the children, they’re our future,” said Mcinturf. “And to have them come here and see leaders in the community look out for them, and do want them to have a good holiday. It’s important that they’re here.”

Around 60 children from area schools were on hand to receive gifts.
