The Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau received a very prestigious honor this week.
The bureau won two statewide Ruby awards for outstanding tourism marketing in Muskingum County. Vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, Kelly Ashby, said the bureau was specifically recognized for its children’s activity book that is provided to tourists at local hotels and attractions, as well as, its newest publication– a motorcycle brochure that highlights the best local routes for visiting motorcyclists.
“We are just absolutely thrilled to receive these awards, that showcase attractions, and things to see and do in Muskingum County, and our marketing efforts,” Ashby said.
The Ohio Travel Association presented the bureau with the coveted awards at the Ohio Conference on Tourism this past Tuesday in Columbus. Ashby said they hope to continue to find new and innovative ways to market Muskingum County as a popular tourism destination.
“We will take this motorcycle brochure, and actually turn it into a car brochure as well for those who have sports cars, convertibles, antique cars, because they really are great routes, so we’re going to take that same kind of information, but promote that to those who are car enthusiasts,” Ashby said.
The bureau will be distributing its new motorcycle brochure to enthusiasts at a statewide convention in Cleveland this February.
