Two Zanesville City Schools Go On Lockdown

Two Zanesville City Schools were placed on lookdown on Tuesday. It happened at Zane Grey elementary and intermediate schools around noon after a report of shots fired in the Pershing Road area. Director of Operations Kevin Appleman says they received a call from Zanesville Police to go on soft lockdown due to an incident in the vicinity of the schools. Appleman says the lockdown lasted for one hour and caused minimal disruption to the school day and classes continued as normal. Apppleman says a letter will be sent to parents explaining what happened. Initial reports indicate police have some suspects in custody. The incident remains under investigation.
