This afternoon, those trick or treaters eager for Halloween, were able to test out their costumes and get a head start on collecting some candy.
Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and National Road Elementary School held their annual Trunk or Treat event. Teachers and church members decorated the trunks of their cars from which they pass candy out to the little ones. Each year the congregation sees between 200 and 300 children line up to participate. We asked Pastor of Pleasant Grove Methodist Linda Morrow why she loves to do this event each year:
"We have a number of community events just again to share and reflect the light of Christ in the community. We’re all in this together and we’re all trying to grow closer to him and closer to each other and this is just one other way we can reach out" she said.
The day ended with a friendly competition for who had the best ‘trunk’ decorations.
