Muskingum County Treasurer Chris Hamill met with County Commissioners to discuss the county’s investments Thursday.
Hamill said that it’s important to meet monthly and monitor how the county’s money is used and to make sure they do their part to make the county more money when the opportunity arises.
“The county has CDs [Certificate of Deposits] and when those mature we upgrade those to hopefully a higher interest rate and it’s the investments for the county,” said Hamill.
Hamill also wants to remind community members that delinquent tax bills will be sent out Friday.
“You will have three weeks to pay those bills and they will due on October 16,” said Hamill.
The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 22.
