It’s Friday once again, so it’s time to introduce you to Gimpy, the Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week.
Gimpy is a domestic short-haired cat, who has already been de-clawed. Executive Director, Jody Murray, said she’s been at the shelter for about two months.
“She also has a special adoption price of $30, so we are in the middle of our cat season and we’d love for people to come in and look at our cats and do adoptions,” Murray said. “As you can see Gimpy’s a nice, calm and pleasant cat, and we’d encourage anybody to come in and take a look at her.”
Murray also talked to us about some tips to keep your pet safe during these hot summer months.
“We just want to encourage people to remember if you’re taking your cat or dog out on a road trip, make sure you’re planning for that and always remember that it gets very hot in cars, so leaving your dog or pet in a car it doesn’t take very long for it to get hot and dehydrated,” he said.
Murray said to always keep identification on your pet when traveling as well.
