Fundraising for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Local News

Teams can still be formed for the Big Brothers Big Sisters annual Bowl for Kids Sake event.

Nearly 700 people are currently participating in the two month long fundraising effort. Executive Director, Mollie Crooks, said the organization’s goal this year is $80,000, and that they are getting close to it. But, she said more people can still get involved if they want to help raise some money and hit the bowling alley.

“Our goal for the teams, each team is asked to raise $500, and from what we hear, people are really looking and trying to meet or exceed that goal because they do recognize that all of the money does stay local, serving our children right here in Muskingum, Guernsey and Morgan counties,” Crooks said.

Crooks added the people of the community are very generous. One person even told her that they’ve sponsored two of the bowling teams. She explained what’s so important about this fundraiser.

“What makes Bowl for Kids Sake super important is it is the majority fundraiser for our agency,” Crooks said. “Most people know what we do, that we provide mentors, role models to children ages 6 to 18 but the impact of that is what we want to do is make children be successful in life.”

The actual bowling party of Bowl for Kids Sake is on April 25th, 29th and 30th at Sunrise Strikes.
