The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is now preparing for its second annual Spring golf tournament. Chamber membership Services Director, Dana Matz, said other member golf courses expressed an interest in hosting the event as well, so the chamber started a Spring tournament.
“We have numerous courses that are members of the Chamber of Commerce and this is just a way for us to allow them to support the chamber member companies and host a golf outing, so we’re doing it alphabetically,” Matz said. “This year we’re at Green Valley, and we’re really looking forward to golfing there.”
Matz said around 28 teams participate each year with a cap of 32 teams to keep a decent pace on the course. He said some businesses use the tournament as an employee reward while others use it as a way to further relationships with business partners.
“It’s a networking opportunity,” Matz said. “We’ll feed the golfers before the match. They’ll golf at Green Valley for three hours and they’ll come back in, and there’ll be prizes for longest drive, closest to the pin, those types of things, so a fun day to get out of the office.”
The tournament is on May 22, and chamber businesses can register now. To do so, you can contact the Chamber of Commerce either online at www.zmchamber.com or by phone at (740) 455-8282.
