Annual Community Egg Hunt and Cook Out

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – More than 1,200 colorful eggs peeked from the trees and bushes this Easter in Violet Flickinger’s yard during the Annual Community Egg Hunt and Cook Out. The event has been going on for at least 30 years. Over 50 people attended.

Baketball for Charity

NEW LEXINGTON, PHIO (WHIZ) – 14 former Ohio State football players hit the hardwood at New Lexington HS over the weekend to raise money through the Driven Foundation. The event started last year after Doug Sheppard invited former Buckeye Roy Hall to a New Lex football game to sign autographs and raise money.

BUCKEYE LAKE (OHIO (WHIZ) – State officials are planning for a practice evacuation at Buckeye Lake. Licking and Fairfield County Emergency Officials will have the drill on April 25th.

AEP Closing 6 Plants

CHARLESTON, W.VA. (AP) – The end of May will bring the closing of six coal-fired American Electric Power plants. According to multiple reports, the company recently sent warning notices to workers at three west Virginia plants, the Muskingum River plant and also to a plant in both Indiana and Virginia.

COLUMBUS, OHIO (WHIZ) – Today is the last day for Ohioans to register to vote for the May 5th primary. Also, voters who have moved since the last election are reminded to update their voting address online at or at your local board of election.
