Muskingum County Seniors had a spring in their step as they celebrated life.
After a long winter and the unexpected closing of the Senior Center the Fieldhouse wanted to give back to area seniors. Monday, they opened their doors, let the fresh air and invited the areas older population to take part in group exercise classes, line dancing and a chance to walk the track, all for free.
“So much of the depression that happens seasonal is because people can’t get out and they can come in here where it’s warm and they can walk or they can sit and laugh and drink a lot of coffee and they do and that’s what it’s all about just getting them in here and getting them out of the house,” Alainna Durfee director of corporate marketing and wellness.
Durfee said the activities were meant to create wellness for the mind and body.
“Yeah it’s not sunshiny out right now, but inside they’re so full of life, so full of energy and just do to the fact of what’s going on with the senior center Wahoo land holdings who’s the landlord of the shopping center he wanted to do this kind of as honor to them. ”
Also taking part in the day was Rambo Health Center, which held screenings for the seniors and Zandex Healthcare.
