Firefighters Battle Two Blazes

Local News

Two fires in Cambridge are now under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Cambridge Fire Department said they battled the first blaze just after 8:30 Sunday night in the 700 block of South Eighth Street. The fire was a vacant home.

Not too long after firefighters returned to the fire station they received another call of a house fire in the 100 block of Clay Street. That home was vacant as well.

Authorities said no injuries were reported at either fire. The State Fire Marshal will tour both scenes Monday and try and determine a cause.

The fires remain under investigation.
