A lucky business in Muskingum County will be receiving a boost of assistance.
The Muskingum County business incubator held its 9th annual MCBI business plan competition today. Client manager, Wendy Edgar says the business plan competition is designed to give company’s the opportunity to create a business plan and a build strong foundation. The winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize as well as $5,000 in MCBI services.
"MCBI provides a variety of business services for start-up companies. Anywhere from creation of the business plan, which this competition helps with as well as financial projections, sales and marketing assistance, if they want to go for investments, we do for preparation for that. Really, anything that they need to know to get started in their business."
The competition is free of cost and is open to anyone who has a new business that is two years or younger. Edgar says the event is well advertised with the help of their sponsors.
"We do a lot of different advertising through our partners and people are aware that it comes every year. We are sponsored by Wesbanco, Matesich Distributing Company as well as Tech Growth Ohio, and they help us get the word out about that."
There were five finalists tonight, the grand prize winner was Network4Rentals.Com. Business owner Ron Palmer won $5,000 cash and $5,000 in business services.
