Employment is the goal of Employers Overload. The business strives to find people the job that fits them best.
To help in this mission Employers Overload tested the waters with its first job fair at its Underwood Street location Sunday afternoon. The agency works with a variety of local and national companies. Staffing Coordinator Karla Jorden said that working with local companies helps to spike interest in potential employees.
"It’s important to have a job that fits you," Jorden said. "If you don’t have a job that you’re interested in going to work everyday and that you enjoy, you’re not going to go. And it’s very important to have that and to be proud of what you’re doing."
Employers Overload looks to get people hired as soon as possible. Jorden said some people can come in to Employers Overload’s office and have an interview later that day.
"We are very confident in putting people to work," Jorden said. "We strive to be different than some of the other angencies. We get to know our clients, get to know their needs so that we’re sending out the right people. We get to know our applicants and what they want to do and what they can do so we can get them in the right jobs."
Jorden added that they plan on having more job fairs in the future.
