The Ohio State Highway Patrol announce a checkpoint in Licking County for Friday.
The State Patrol said that the location of the checkpoint will be announced Friday morning. The OVI checkpoint is funded by Federal Grant funds and is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
Based on provisional data there were 309 OVI related fatal crashes in which 341 people were killed last year in Ohio.
On average State Troopers make an average of 25,000 OVI arrests each year in an attempt to combat these dangerous drivers.
