The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office was on the move this week.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Friday morning, the sheriff’s office received an alarm for a robbery at the Duke and Duchess station at 259 Third Street in Frazeysburg. An officer pulled over the suspect’s green Ford Explorer at 2:44 a.m. on North River Road West. Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox said 30-year-old Jason Calhoun of Dresden is currently facing one count of aggravated robbery and one count of misdemeanor theft.

"That subject has been taken into custody," said Sheriff Matt Lutz.  "We feel very confident that this individual was involved in the Frazeysburg Duke robbery, and we’re also considering this person a person of interest in the two robberies that we had at the other Duke stations, the one on Newark Road and the one on Pleasant Grove Road."

Lutz also said the combined drug unit of the Zanesville Police Department and the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant around 2:30 Thursday afternoon at 447 Spangler Drive in Zanesville.  "We did recover 3.5 pounds of marijuana, and more importantly, we took off seven guns, multiple magazines, and a lot of ammunition," he said.

According to Lutz, two males were detained from the residence. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
