The Zanesville High School Band members started their journey to Disney World.
They have worked all year to raise enough money to march in the Disney parade at the theme park . This is the 11th time since the 1970’s that the band will make an appearance in Florida.
"First we had many sales. We had a pizza sale that we very first started with and if we didn’t do well in that, we had a Zanesville mattress sale. We got 50 percent of the money and after that we had many salsa sales and cookie dough sales. Many opportunities to make money," said Percussian Lead, Darian Timberlake.
The cost of the trip was around $800 per band member . The students raised as much as they could and then the Zanesville Boosters Club stepped in to make up the difference.
" I can’t wait, I’m extremely excited, I’m excited of course to march, but I’m also excited to see mickey mouse and go to universal, " said Field Commander, Dakota Lickliter.
The student will stay at the Disney Hotel and will return Friday night once the park closes. Most of the students have already gone through testing week and will make up the remainder of their work once they get back home on Saturday.
