A new exhibit is open at the John McIntire Library Friday.
The Carnegie Wing Gallery is kicking off a show by the Southeastern Ohio Water Media Society.
Assistant Director, Blair Tom said artists from around the area are showcasing paintings that represent their favorite things.
The show is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and runs through March 27th."Each entry reflects the artist’s response to the theme, "My favorite thing." and what’s really interesting then is the variety, of the representations, and each artist has included a statement as to why that painting represents their favorite thing," said Tom.
The event is a part of the First Friday event in Zanesville, which showcases artwork from all around the city.
"One of the things we hope is that visitors get to appreciate the library for being more than just books. Certainly that’s an important part of our role, but we’re a destination for education, entertainment, enrichment and enjoyment, and we think truly this enhances that library experience," added Tom.
Tom said the art show displays a different aspect of the library.
