It looks like a move to ban or restrict exotic animal ownership will be addressed at the Statehouse. Legislation may be taken up in the Ohio Senate as soon as next week. State Senator Troy Balderson will meet with Senate President Tom Niehaus Wednesday about setting a timeline for the bill. Last month Muskingum County Sheriff’s Deputies killed 48 wild animals after their owner Terry Thompson opened their cages and then killed himself on his Kopchak Road farm.
