A Texas man arrested Friday by the Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol will be in court on Friday for a preliminary hearing in his case.
Troopers said they stopped with a disabled vehicle on Interstate 77 near Old Washington last Friday. The troopers said they detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. The suspect, 35-year-old Ernst Reis, of Plano, Texas was asked out of the vehicle and during a pat down troopers discovered two knives.
A search of the vehicle led troopers to a loaded 9mm semi automatic handgun with 55 rounds, a loaded .40 semi-automatic handgun with 95 rounds, two grams of marijuana and other paraphernalia, syringes, two grams of hashish, unidentified red and orange pills, fifteen vials of steroids and a half a gram of heroin.
Reis was taken to the Guernsey County Jail. He posted a bond of $5,000, Tuesday. He faces a charge of possession of heroin and having an improvised hand firearm in a motor vehicle.
