Thompson May Have Released Animals-Then Killed Self

Local News

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz will hold a new conference at 10:00 Wednesday morning to update the search for escaped exotic animals. It is likely that the Sheriff will answer questions about the possibility that the owner of the home where the animals escaped let the animals loose then killed himself.
It happened late Tuesday afternoon at the farm of Terry Thompson on Kopchak road. Thompson was found dead outside his home by authorities. He had just recently been released from prison on federal gun charges. There are an unknown number of lions, bears, tigers, and other animals still on the loose. So far over 30 have been shot and killed. Officials think almost 50 were intentionally set loose.
