A Book, Two Movies, Now Zanesville Play

It’s been a book, two movies and now a play in Zanesville. Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is currently casting the spring show.

Auditions began at 7:00 p.m. Sunday and the house was packed with kids eager to try -out. The most popular part, an Ompaloompa. Zane Trace Players feels this show is a good change from their March show , To Kill a Mocking Bird and it is a new opportunity.
 

"The opportunity to share a show with kids. It’s fun, it’s festive, it’s colorful," said show advisor Shelly Tolliver.

Kids make up a majority of the cast and add fun to the show. The theater gets them out of the comfort zones.

"I have met some of the nicest people in the nicest families through theater because they understand the importance of meeting each other going out of there school borders. We’ve got Perry, Morgan, Zanesville, Tri- Valley and these people might not have met it if wasn’t for community theater productions," said Tolliver.

Try – outs will be again Monday night at the theater. The show runs,  May 13-15 and 20-22.
