Man Pleads Guilty To Attempted Escape From Jail

A 19-year-old Circleville man was sentenced Monday for attempting to break out of the Muskingum County Jail.

According to Assistant Muskingum County Prosecutor Bob Smith, Scott Haughey originally plead not guilty to one count of aiding escape and one count vandalism for his part in the May 23rd attempted escape from the jail.

Smith says Monday Haughey withdrew that plea and pleads guilty. He was sentenced Monday as well by Judge Mark Fleegle to 15-months in prison. Haughey must also make restitution of more than $720.
