Two Licking County men are charged with aggravated menacing and obstructing official business after an incident Wednesday afternoon.
The Sheriff’s Office says it attempted to serve 36-year-old Jason Lee of Newark with civil papers, concerning his residence. Deputies say Lee refused the papers and went inside the home. They attempted to make contact with Lee, who they say displayed a handgun from the back door of the home, but refused to come out. Deputies also tried to contact another person in the home 45-year-old Karl Wetherby of Newark, who also refused to come out. After five hours of negotiations, Wetherby eventually came out without incident. Deputies say Lee followed a short time later.
Both men are being held at the Licking County Justice Center while the Prosecutor’s Office review their case.
