The Tri-Valley School District held its 23rd Annual Band Classic Saturday evening. It gave 22 area bands an outlet to perform, and the Director of Tri-Valley Bands says the experience is something you can’t get in the classroom.
"It teaches teamwork. It teaches leadership. It teaches work ethic. It teaches goal setting, discipline. They have to have respect for each other because they have to be able to work even on days when they don’t feel like working," says Amanda Blevins.
Blevins says students can carry on these life lessons, no matter the occupation. The band classic is also the last chance for students to qualify for the OMEA State Marching Finals.
