Many community pools across the area are opening their doors for the summer, including the Dresden Swim Center.
People weren’t lining up, waiting to get in the water because of a rainy start to the day and Memorial Day services, but they were trickling in by the afternoon.
"Because it’s the first day of the pool opening, and I usually go on the first day just to swim, " says swimmer McKensea Pape.
"I just wanted to come out and swim. It’s like my favorite hobby to do, " says swimmer McKenzie Dorr.
Swim Center Manager, Lindsay Conley, says she hasn’t run into many problems on opening day.
"Just a few snags, but those are every year sort of things. We’re ready for the public and looking for a good summer, " says Conley.
Conley says she’s looking for a hot and dry summer to attract both swimmers and sun-bathers.
