Remembering a Zanesville Man

A well-known Zanesville car dealership owner has passed away.

89-year-old William Richard Upton died with family nearby Saturday.

Upton served our country during World War II, winning the Bronze Star, the World War II Victory Medal, and several other honors.

When he came back, he started working at White Chevrolet as business manager and then general manager for almost 30 years before buying the dealership in 1975. White Chevrolet has since been passed on to Upton’s son.

Calling hours will be held this Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home as well this Wednesday at 10 a.m.
