Wildfire Season

Local News

With the weather turning warmer and more people flocking outside, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources wants to remind people about the state’s burning regulations.

Ohio law doesn’t allow outdoor burning to take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during March, April, and May, but the organization says there’s about 500 reports of wildfires every year during the spring wildfire season.

If you do notice an outdoor fire or see that one is getting out of hand, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources is asking that you immediately contact your local fire department to keep the blaze from spreading and damaging surrounding areas.
