Serious Accident Sent Several to Hospital

A three-car accident sent three people to the hospital this morning.

It happened around 8 a.m. on Newark Road/146 near the the BP gas station.

Sgt. Jeremy Mendenhall of the Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says 39-year old Carrie Alexander of Frazeysburg was traveling eastbound on Newark Road/146 when she lost control of the car, went left of center and side-swiped 52-year old Juanita English-Bishop of Zanesville.

Alexander’s car continued on the road, striking 37-year old Lisa Dent of Zanesville head-on.

All three women were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Allan Lemity says his daughter, Lisa Dent, was on her way to work when it happened and he got a call.

"I’m actually very thankful," he said. "I think God had to really be with her. You see people dying in accidents as bad as this and they are hurt seriously, so she’s going to be okay. It’s alot to be thankful for."

Muskingum Township Fire Department and the state patrol responded to the accident.
