Zanesville Legend Honored By Ohio Quarter Horse Association

A Zanesville man – who passed away this past spring – is being called a legend in his profession. 63-year-old Denny Hales died March 29th of a sudden heart attack. He served as the executive vice president of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association for over 20 years. This month his memory was honored when a riding pavilion at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus was dedicated as the Denny Hales Arena. Hales was instrumental in the growth and success of the Congress and considered in the top of his profession. He also spent many years in education locally as principal of Maysville Junior High School and he taught at Zanesville City Schools. Hales had an impact on his profession not only in Ohio but nationally.
