The new warden of the Noble Correctional Institution has been in his position less than a month and says the transition couldn’t have been smoother.

Ed Banks comes to Noble Correctional from the Hocking Correctional Facility in Nelsonville, where he was also warden. Banks says there’s only small differences between the two prisons.

“It’s a larger population and a younger population, but besides that. The set-up itself and the way the dorms set-up and the actual structural lay-out of the facility. It’s a difference,” says Banks.

Banks has worked with a lot of the staff at Noble previously and says he’s lucky to follow a strong administration. The Cadiz native is also excited to back in southeastern Ohio.

“It’s good first of all to be back home. This brings me closer to my home for hopefully for a good bit of my career, but no I’m looking forward to all the challenges that the position presents and again working with the tenured staff at Noble,” he says.

The new warden will oversee almost 2500 inmates at the institution located in Caldwell.
