Muskingum County to See 5 Construction Projects

Local News

Muskingum County will be full of construction projects this month.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is working with construction companies throughout the area on five projects in Muskingum and Licking Counties.

Kate Stickle of O-DOT says it’s all a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

“Over $8.2 million have been funded in Muskingum and surrounding counties,” said Stickle. “Most of that constrution is underway now. We’ll continue to start. There is also $100,000 given through the ERA Fund to the transit fuds in Guernsey and Muskingum counties.”

Three of the five projects started today, including two along U.S. Route 40 just west of the Muskingum-Licking County line.

Stickle says the road will see a bridge replacement.

“Right now we’re installing a traffic light,” she said. “This will be a signalized lane closure. One lane will go eastbound and one westbound will go by the signal.”

Stickle says State Route 16 will continue it’s resurfacing, with a finish date of October 31. Stickle says State Route 60 will also see a facelift between Duncan Falls and the Morgan County line. That project should be finished october 16.
