Multiple Vehicle Burglaries off West Pike

Local News

More than 10 vehicles were broken into and a truck stolen from neighborhoods off the West Pike and the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office says they believe all the incidents are connected.

Between midnight and 3 a.m. Wednesday, several vehicles were broken into in the Wildwood Circle sub-division and at the Eagle View apartments.

In the same time frame a black 1997 Dodge pick-up truck was stolen from nearby Ivy Drive.

The truck’s license plate is DQC9797 and authorities say locating it may provide important information.

“We hope so. We’d obviously like to find it back for the owner and then hopefully have some evidence that would lead to the suspect,” says Captain Jeff LeCocq, Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.

Capt. LeCocq says the suspects stole miscellaneous items from the other vehicles, such as change or electronics.

He says all of the vehicles burglarized were unlocked except one.

“I would just caution everybody to make sure you do have your vehicle locked. Don’t leave anything valuable in your vehicle and just try to be conscientious of people in your neighborhood.”

There are no suspects at this time.

If you have any information about the stolen truck or car burglaries you’re asked to contact the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 452-3637.
