The Antrim Fire Department says one person is dead and four others were injured in a gas well accident.
It happened just before 10 Thursday morning just east of Ginger and Skullfork Roads in Londonderry Township in Guernsey County.
According to Doug Smith with the Chipco LLC Oil & Gas Company of Zanesville, says 26 year old Kenneth Hanson of Stockport was killed in the accident.
Smith says 22 year old Aaron Dumolt of Zanesville was taken by MedFlight to OSU Medical Center in Columbus. Where he is listed in critical condition.
He says three other workers were injured but they were all treated and released from Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge.
Fire Officials say details are sketchy but as workers from Chipco LLC were swabbing out an old gas well they hit a vein of gas that is poison if inhaled.
Investigators say crew members were wearing safety equipment at the time of the accident.
Antrim Fire officials say the well is privately owned.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
