Update: Bailey Street Home Invasion

Three men broke into a Bailey Street home, assaulted a resident sending him to the hospital.

According to Detective Randy Ritchason of the Zanesville Police Department, shortly after midnight Thursday morning three masked men forcefully broke into a home on the 300-block of Bailey Street and beat a man in the home with an unidentified object. Earlier authorities had reported he was beat with a gun.

The suspects demanded cash, but when other residents confronted the men, the suspects fled on foot.

Detective Ritchason says six people were in the home, but only one was injured.

The injured resident was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detective Ritchason says they have a suspect and that possible charges are pending.
