Two badly burned after lightning strike

Two men were reportedly badly burned after lightning struck in the backyard of a Crooksville home.

Officials with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that two are receiving medical attention due to lightning, but would not give specifics.

A man who identified himself over the phone as Sean Booth, a relative of the two, says lightning struck in the back yard of a home at 231 Sand Street.

Booth says 19 year old Sean Savage and his brother 17 year old David Savage, along with four others were outside when lightning struck. Sean and David suffered severe burns. Sean is reportedly on a ventilator, while David is in stable condition. Originally they were taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, and then transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Another boy was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan where’s his condition is unknown. No other injuries were reported.
